Finley's Fighters Race for Rare

Join us with a virtual race during rare disease month!  This year February has 29 days, so we are asking Finley’s supporters to walk 1 mile a day for 29 days to support research for a cure for Finley’s blindness.  All money made during this fundraiser goes to our RDH12 Fund for Sight to help Finley and others like her who are going blind due to RDH12 Lebers Congenital Amaurosis.

How it works:

We are asking participants to walk at least 1 mile a day for 29 days for this event.  This walking/running does not have to be in the form of formal exercise!  If you have an app on your phone to track steps (such as Apple Fitness, StepsApp or RunKeeper) or a FitBit, you can clock your regular movements during the day to count toward your 29 miles.

Once your 29 miles are complete, you will email me at jenniferpletcher@gmail.com and let me know you are finished your Race for Rare, confirm your address, and we will mail you the medal!  The medal can also make a nice ornament for your tree if you so desire.  A good way to remember your support for our Finley and our foundation.

The soonest a medal will be mailed with be March 1st.  Even if you complete your 29 miles in less than 29 days, we will wait until Rare Disease month is over before sending you your prize.

Don’t want to do this Race for Rare in February?  That is no problem!  You can sign up for Race for Rare at any point now and THROUGH the month of February and still get a medal Then you can complete your 29 miles on your own time during the year 2024, and we will send your medal as soon as you let us know you are done!

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support for Finley, our family and our RDH12 Foundation.  We continue to fight as hard as we can to make sure that Finley spends her life as a sighted person.  Every dollar moves us that much closer to a cure.
